An error occurred while saving the comment nathan commentedPlease NEVER go to 1 min logs unless it is optional!!! I don't want to give up the 15 min logs. There are a lot of advantages to 15 min logs that would all be lost on 1 min logs...

An error occurred while saving the comment nathan commentedThis is already a feature but only in multi-day logs. For single-day off-duty, you can click line 1 at noon to create a flag point and put in your location that way.

An error occurred while saving the comment nathan commentedIf you do it right, you have nothing to hide. I hand the officer a 3-ring binder with the entire year of logs! i even printed a nice cover for the outside of my "log book". Only twice have officers lifted the first page to peak at the second before handing it back. neat computer printouts and a full year of logs makes any officer think "this guy clearly isn't trying to hide anything..." Besides, what officer is going to wade through THAT much paper unless you were dumb enough to have already pissed him off?

An error occurred while saving the comment nathan commentedWhile we can NOT have stickers that say "e-log" or "EOBR" it would be AWESOME to have a sticker that said "computerized logs by Eclipse". This would be technically correct, not actually claiming to be a qualified e-log, letting the officers know that we do have an electronic means of being more careful with our logs and promoting Eclipse all at the same time! :)

Not sure what this has to do with getting time at home...@ everyone
I have been asking for this feature for a year now. Still waiting... I hate wasting 1/4 hr to avoid the reset. -

An error occurred while saving the comment nathan commentedThis would require saving the entire year of logs and never clearing out the old logs. I am sure that would drastically slow the program down. I don't think I am for that. I made a super simple spreadsheet that keeps track. I just put in the dates for when I left home and when I get back. The spreadsheet tells me how long I was gone for each run, total days out for the year and even a percentage of "time away from home. If you would like a copy, email me:

An error occurred while saving the comment nathan commentedIt is not legal to present your Eclipse program to an officer and refer to it as an e-log. Eclipse does NOT qualify as an e-log because it is not connected to your trucks computer to monitor your actual driving. You are required, by DOT regulation, to print out the logs and have them available for the officer to inspect just as you would any other paper log. While many officers may see your print-outs and refer to them as e-logs, their misunderstanding is our gain. However, there are a few out there who know better and you WILL get a citation for "no log book" some day if you don't present printed copies.

yes, sometimes my logs get lost in transit. Currently, when this happens, I must dig out my paper copy and go have it faxed. What a pain. Would much prefet to save to PDF so I could email it.
Better yet, along with "save to PDF", how about the option to "append to PDF"? This way I could have a single PDF file with a week or a month of logs. Each day I could simply append the new log to the existing PDF file! :)
